A relaxed paint and sip alternative in London
If you like the idea of painting with friends but would rather choose your own project than copy a set picture, an art café is a calmer alternative. At Imperfect Art in Angel and Peckham you grab a seat for two hours from £11, with unlimited tea and coffee, then choose what you'd like to make from the art menu, or bring your own project.
How an art café session differs from a paint and sip
- You choose the project. Paint and sip nights often follow one painting that everyone copies. Here you decide what to make: draw, paint, sculpt or bring something from home.
- Two unhurried hours. There is no timetable to keep to and no step you can fall behind on.
- Pay for what you use. Seats are from £11, with tea, coffee and biscuits included, and you add an activity from the art menu from £3, or bring your own project.
- Tea, coffee and biscuits are included. Unlimited, for the whole session.
- Small, cosy studios. Our two studios in Angel and Peckham are relaxed spaces to talk, make and lose track of time.

Your seat covers two hours at your table with unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits, plus puzzles, games and colouring. Activities are added to the seat price, or bring your own project and supplies. Students and NHS staff get 10% off the seat price with valid ID.

If you would like someone to guide you through a painting or a craft, our creative workshops are guided sessions on one medium or theme, such as acrylic painting, watercolour, clay or lino printing. Workshops start from £32 per person and all materials are included.
Booking for a group?
For hen dos, birthdays and team days, you can hire a studio just for your group: from £360 at Angel (up to 15 people) or from £750 at Peckham (up to 50 people), with a host and all materials included. Both studios are open Thursday and Friday 2pm to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday 11am to 6pm.

Is Imperfect Art a paint and sip?
Not exactly. Imperfect Art is an art café: you choose your own project and materials rather than following a set painting, and tea, coffee and biscuits are included with every session.
Can I do a session with friends?
Yes. Book the same time slot together. For bigger groups, look at our private events.
Do I have to be able to paint?
No. There is no set project and nobody is marking your work. Guests of every level are welcome.
How much does it cost?
A seat is £11 at either studio on Thursdays and Fridays for sessions starting before 5pm, and £15 at Peckham or £17 at Angel at all other times. It covers two hours at your table with unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits. You then choose an activity from the art menu, added to your seat price: from £3, with the £7 All-in the most popular. Or bring your own project and supplies.
Can I book a hen do or birthday?
Yes. You can hire a studio for your group with a host: Angel holds up to 15 guests and Peckham up to 50. The room is from £120 at Angel and from £190 at Peckham for 2 hours (no activities included). Add an activity from our art menu, or choose a guided workshop with no room fee.
