An art café is a relaxed creative space where you can make art at your own pace. There's no pressure, no agenda, and no right or wrong way to create. Imperfect Art is a "third space" between work and home: somewhere to switch off, be present, and enjoy making something with your hands.

A 2-hour session for your seat in the studio, with access to the basic art supplies, unlimited tea, biscuits, and French-press coffee. It's self-guided, with hosts available if you need them. There's no formal teaching or facilitation. Not all materials are included, upgrades are available at extra cost.

Not at all. Imperfect Art was created for beginners and people who "aren't creative" or "haven't drawn since they were a child". Our goal is to provide a space for people to explore and play without judgement.

Absolutely, a lot of people do! Many people put on their headphones and get in the creative zone.

Art café sessions are self-guided and free-flow with no instruction, perfect if you want to do your own thing or explore different mediums at your own pace. Workshops are guided sessions with a theme or medium, best for people who want to learn and have a bit more structure.

Workshops are led by a host and focus on a specific medium or activity. You'll learn simple techniques in a relaxed environment, with all materials provided.

Yes, no experience needed for any of our workshops.

Yes! We welcome group bookings for birthdays, hen parties, team socials, celebrations, and catch-ups with friends. Depending on the type of experience you're looking for, there are a few different options.

1. Art café session together: the simplest option. Your group joins a regular session alongside other guests, choosing their own materials and creating at their own pace. Just increase the quantity when booking.

2. Public workshop: for groups who'd like more structure. You can join one of our scheduled workshops (others may attend too). Just increase the quantity when booking.

3. Dedicated group workshop: a workshop just for your group, with your choice of activity. Other guests may still be in the studio. Starts from £320 for a minimum of 8 people.

4. Private event / hire: exclusive use of the studio for your group. See below for pricing.

Yes, we are available for private hire across both locations. At Angel, prices start from £360 (2 hours). At Peckham, prices start from £750 (2 hours). Both include time for arrival and pack-up (1 hour in total). If you'd like a guided creative activity but don't need exclusive use of the space, we can host a workshop dedicated to your group. Prices start from £320 for a minimum of 8 people.

Yes, for private events only. Depending on the option you choose, we can help you select the right creative activity, materials, and format for your group. Enquire via the private events form to discuss.

Our Angel location has a capacity of 15 and Peckham location has a capacity of 35.

Yes, simply increase the quantity when booking on the workshops page.

For art café sessions, choose a day and time on our booking page (slots are 2 hours). For workshops, the date and time are fixed; find them on the workshops page. You can book for multiple people by increasing the quantity. For private events, use our private events enquiry form.

No, although it's recommended. Walk-ins are welcome and you can pay when you arrive.

Yes. Art café sessions can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before your session. Workshops need 5 days' notice, since materials are bought and prepared specifically for the group booked. If something changes, just use the link in your confirmation email.

Not at the moment. All our sessions are 2 hours, which gives you enough time to settle in, slow down, and enjoy a proper creative break.

You can join our waitlist and you'll be the first to know if a space opens up. You'll receive an instant email notification and can book before the slot becomes publicly available again.

Basic art supplies including watercolour, charcoal, soft pastels, and oil pastels, books for inspiration, and unlimited refreshments: a selection of teas, French-press coffee, and biscuits, plus an apron and a bag to take your piece home. You'll also find board games, chess, get-to-know-you card games, colouring pencils and communal colouring books and pages, and our take-a-book-bring-a-book library.

No pressure. You choose your medium once you arrive at the studio, or pick an upgrade at checkout if you already know what you fancy, staff are happy to help you pick. For private bookings, we need to know the art medium of choice in advance to ensure we have enough.

Just yourself. We provide all materials, refreshments, and a bag for you to take your piece home.

You're welcome to bring your own art supplies such as brushes or paper. We don't currently allow outside projects or activities, as we want to keep the experience focused on the materials we provide in the studio.

10+ are welcome. Under 18s must come with a parent/guardian. We can host private events for younger groups for ages 7+. Younger children may find the environment challenging, so please use your judgement when booking.

Yes! We're a pet-friendly studio. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. (We've had a few four-legged visitors who stole the show.)

Unfortunately, the buildings we are in do not have step-free access. Both of our studios are on the second floor, accessible only by stairs.

We have unlimited tea, French-press coffee, and biscuits included for all bookings. At Peckham, we are selling mocktails, coffee, and iced matcha!
