An art café is a relaxed creative space where you can make art at your own pace. There's no pressure, no agenda, and no right or wrong way to create. Imperfect Art is a "third space" between work and home: somewhere to switch off, be present, and enjoy making something with your hands.

A 2-hour seat in the studio with unlimited tea, biscuits and French-press coffee, plus our communal tools, puzzles, games and colouring sheets. It's self-guided, with hosts available if you need them. There's no formal teaching or facilitation. Art materials aren't part of the seat price: choose an activity from the art menu, from £3, or bring your own.

Not at all. Imperfect Art was created for beginners and people who "aren't creative" or "haven't drawn since they were a child". Our goal is to provide a space for people to explore and play without judgement.

Absolutely, a lot of people do! Many people put on their headphones and get in the creative zone.

Art café sessions are self-guided and free-flow with no instruction, perfect if you want to do your own thing or explore different mediums at your own pace. Workshops are guided sessions with a theme or on a specific medium.

Workshops are led by a host and focus on a specific medium or activity. You'll learn simple techniques in a relaxed environment, with all materials provided. They are typically 2 hours long.

Yes! We welcome group bookings for birthdays, hen parties, team socials, celebrations, and catch-ups with friends. Depending on the type of experience you're looking for, there are a few different options.

1. Art café session together: the simplest option. Your group joins a regular session alongside other guests, choosing their own materials and creating at their own pace. Just increase the quantity when booking.

2. Public workshop: for groups who'd like more structure. You can join one of our scheduled workshops (others may attend too). Just increase the quantity when booking.

3. Private event / hire: exclusive use of the studio for your group. See below for pricing.

Yes, we are available for private hire across both locations, so it's just your group and your host. Angel holds up to 15 guests and Peckham up to 50. You can also hire the space only and run your own event, priced by day, length and group size. See private events for the options and prices.

Yes, for private events only. Depending on the option you choose, we can help you select the right creative activity, materials, and format for your group. Enquire via the private events form to discuss.

Our Angel location has a capacity of 15 and Peckham location has a capacity of 50.

Yes, simply increase the quantity when booking on the workshops page.

For art café sessions, choose a day and time on our booking page (slots are 2 hours). For workshops, the date and time are fixed; find them on the workshops page. You can book for multiple people by increasing the quantity. For private events, use our private events enquiry form.

No, although it's recommended. Walk-ins are welcome and you can pay when you arrive.

Yes. Art café sessions can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before your session. Inside 24 hours you can still move to another time on the same day at the same studio, but we can't offer a refund or a different date. Workshops need 5 days' notice, since materials are bought and prepared specifically for the group booked. If something changes, just use the link in your confirmation email.

Not at the moment. All our sessions are 2 hours, which gives you enough time to settle in, slow down, and enjoy a proper creative break.

You can join our waitlist and you'll be the first to know if a space opens up. You'll receive an instant email notification and can book before the slot becomes publicly available again.

Your seat is your table for two hours, and it includes:

• Unlimited tea, French-press coffee and biscuits
• Communal materials: pencils, colouring pencils, scissors, sharpeners and rulers
• Communal activities: puzzles, games, colouring sheets and art books
• Bring your own materials, or choose an activity from the art menu

Draw and paint mediums (the All-in with watercolour, oil pastels, soft pastels and charcoal is the most popular), painting projects such as canvas, vase, candle and tote bag, and crafting projects such as clay, lino printing, collage and beads, added to your seat price. See the full art menu.

No. Book your seat and choose from the art menu when you arrive if you'd rather. If you like to plan ahead, pick it online and we'll make sure it's ready for you, as activities can occasionally run out. For private bookings, we need to know the activity of choice in advance.

Just yourself and your creativity (if you think you're not creative, we don't believe you, we all doodled as kids). We'll provide everything else.

Yes, just pay for your seat. Your own project and supplies are always welcome, and the communal materials are free to use. Forgotten something? Ask your host, they'll do their best to help as we have some materials for sale. Please be mindful of the space your project takes up, especially when it's busy.

Children are welcome, and those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. It works the same way for everyone: each person books a seat. Our printed colouring sheets and colouring pencils are free to use, and they can choose an activity from the art menu like everyone else. Please note our art materials are not specifically made for children and you are responsible for supervising your child.

We aim to create a calm, creative environment and hope our guests can help us foster that together. We reserve the right to ask anyone who disrupts it to leave.

We also run private events, including kids' parties.

Yes! We're a pet-friendly studio. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. (We've had a few four-legged visitors who stole the show.)

Unfortunately, the buildings we are in do not have step-free access. Both of our studios are on the second floor, accessible only by stairs.

We have unlimited tea, French-press coffee and biscuits included for all bookings. At Peckham, we also sell barista-style coffee and iced matcha.
