What is Imperfect Art?

  • An art café is a relaxed creative space where you can make art at your own pace. There’s no pressure, no agenda, and no right or wrong way to create.

    Imperfect Art is a “third space” between work and home, somewhere to switch off, be present, and enjoy making something with your hands.

  • 2-hour session with access to the basic art supplies. Unlimited tea, biscuits, and french press coffee are provided.

    Self-guided: The materials are laid out on the shelves. Hosts are available if needed.

    Free-flow: There’s no formal teaching or facilitation.

    Not all materials are included, upgrades are available at extra cost.

  • Not at all. Imperfect Art was created for beginners and people who “aren’t creative” or “haven’t drawn since they were a child”. Our goal is to provide a space for people to explore and play without judgement.

  • Absolutely, a lot of people do! Many people put on their headphones and get in the creative zone.

Art Café vs Workshops

  • Art Café: Self-guided, free-flow, no instruction. Perfect if you want to do your own thing or just explore different mediums.

    Workshops: Guided sessions with a theme or medium. Best for people who want to learn and have structure.

  • Workshops are guided by a host and focus on a specific medium or activity. You’ll learn simple techniques in a relaxed environment, with all materials provided.

  • Yes, no experience needed.

Group Bookings & Private Events

  • Yes! We welcome group bookings for birthdays, hen parties, team socials, celebrations, and catch-ups with friends.

    Depending on the type of experience you’re looking for, there are a few different options.

  • 1. Book an Art Café session together
    The simplest option is to book your group into a regular Art Café session. You’ll enjoy our free-flow creative experience alongside other guests, with the option to choose your own materials and create at your own pace. To book, increase the quantity when making your reservation.

    2. Workshop (Public)
    For groups who would like more structure, we have workshops on throughout the month. Please note that this can be joined by other people. To book, increase the quantity when making your reservation.

    3. Workshop Dedicated for your Group
    We offer workshops just for your group and you can choose from our range of activities. Please note that this is not a private event/hire which means that other people may be in the studio.

    This starts from £320 for a minimum of 8 people, with pricing depending on the medium chosen.

    4. Private Event/Hire
    If you’d like an exclusive space for your group, you can privately hire one of our studios.

    Private bookings have a minimum duration of 2 hours and start from £360 at Angel (up to 15 people), and £800 at Peckham (up to 35 people).

  • Yes, we are available for private hire across both locations.

    At Angel, prices start from £360 (2 hours).

    If you’d like a guided creative activity but don’t need exclusive use of the space, we can host a workshop dedicated to your group. Prices start from £320 for a minimum of 8 people.

  • Yes, for private events only. Depending on the option you choose, we can help you select the right creative activity, materials, and format for your group.

  • Our Angel location has a capacity of 15 and Peckham location has a capacity of 35.

  • Yes, simply increase the quantity needed when booking.

Booking & Availability

  • For art café sessions - book a session by choosing a day and time. Slots are for 2 hours.

    For workshops - the date and time and fixed.

    You can book for multiple people by increasing the quantity on the booking page.

  • No although it’s recommended. Walk ins are welcome and you can pay when you arrive.

  • Yes, you can reschedule up to 24 hours before your session. If something changes, just use the link in your confirmation email.

  • Not at the moment. All our sessions are 2 hours, which gives you enough time to settle in, slow down, and enjoy a proper creative break.

  • You can join our waitlist and you’ll be the first to know if a space opens up.

    You’ll receive an instant email notification and can book before the slot becomes publicly available again.

  • You can upgrade your session with additional materials when you book or arrive at the studio. You will still have access to all the basic materials.

    • Acrylic painting on canvas +£10

    • Acrylic painting on a tote bag +£10

    • Candle painting with wax paint +£10

    • Pressed flowers +£15

    • Beads / Charms bar (friendship bracelets) +£5

    • Collage / Vision board +£8 for A3 board, +£5 for smaller board

    • Lino printing +£10

    • Air dry clay +£10

    • Extra 30 mins for £5

  • Nope! You choose your medium once you arrive at the studio.

    For upgrades, you can choose and pay on the day.

    For private bookings, we need to know the art medium of choice to ensure we have enough.

  • Just yourself. We provide all materials, refreshments, and a bag for you to take your piece home.

  • You’re welcome to bring your own art supplies, such as brushes or paper. However, we don’t currently allow outside projects or activities, as we want to keep the experience focused on the materials we provide in the studio.

Practical Info

  • 14+ are welcome. Under 18s must come with a parent/guardian.

    We can host private events for younger groups for ages 9+. Younger children may find the environment challenging, so please use your judgement when booking.

  • Yes! We’re a pet-friendly studio. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. (We’ve had a few four-legged visitors who stole the show.)

  • Unfortunately, the buildings we are in do not have step-free access. Both of our studios are on the second floor, accessible only by stairs.

  • We have unlimited tea, french press coffee, and biscuits included for all bookings.

    At Peckham, we will be selling mocktails, coffee, and matcha in the near future!
